Obituary for Nathan Dean Carlisle

Orangeburg
Nathan Dean “Nate” Carlisle, 46, passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, at Lexington Medical Center, on January 22, 2019. Nate was born May 8, 1972, in Valparaiso, Indiana, the son of Greg and Jennie Carlisle. He was the loving husband of Karen Dantzler Carlisle of Orangeburg, whom he lovingly referred to as “Killer”.
He lived in Orangeburg almost all of his life. He was trained as a chef at Johnson and Wales University and worked several years in the food industry; He worked the last 14+ years in the Family of the McCall Thomas Engineering Company, in Orangeburg. He loved living in the country, working on his many projects, playing with and working with his tools and new tractor, fussing about “The Hoard” of cats that he fed every day.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Branchville Christian Church at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Visitation will be in the church fellowship hall one hour before the service.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Dantzler Carlisle and daughter Ashley Hildebrand, and his super dog, Newt. He is also survived by his parents, sisters, Courtney Carlisle Blankenship (Michael) and Katie Carlisle Jett (Jason), six nephews and one niece, Reese and Harthe Blankenship, Blake Boone (Hawanya), Jacob and Garrett Blankenship, Jackson Jett, Ava Jett, and Great nephew, Lucas Boone.
The family would like to express appreciation to the McCall Thomas family for their help during this difficult time. Also, thanks to Drs. Stone, Moyer, and Perkins and staff at Lexington Medical Center for the great care.
Nathan lovingly donated his organs to help save other lives. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 96, Branchville, SC 29432.
