St. George
Albert Lee Smith, 61, of St. George died at Hospice Center in Mt. Pleasant, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Orangeburg County, a son of Sam Smith Sr. and Sarah Dukes Smith. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in St George. Al was a self employed carpenter; he enjoyed deer hunting and spending time outdoors.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Ott Funeral Home Chapel, in Branchville, with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will be at Rigby Cemetery, in Reevesville. He is survived by three brothers, Samuel Jacob Smith Jr. (Bonnie), of St. George, Michael Edward Smith (Patricia), of Orangeburg, and George Robert "Peanut" Smith, of Summerville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith Jr.
