Adolph Sublett McAlhany's Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Adolph Sublett McAlhany, 87 years of age, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 11, 2013, at his residence. Mr. McAlhany was born on September 10, 1925, in Branchville, a son of the late Otis H. McAlhany and Bessie Hill McAlhany. He was a row crop farmer and a hog producer all of his life. He was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church; he loved spending time with his family, having cookouts at the river, going to Edisto Beach, and hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., at Beulah Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Frederick officiating. Burial will be in McAlhany Cemetery, near Branchville. The casket will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. Pallbearers will be Harry McAlhany, Van Walters, Roger Kittrell, David Proctor, Mile Kittrell, and Tony Kittrell.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Grace Kittrell McAlhany, one son, Sublett Adolph McAlhany Jr. (Elaine), one daughter, Peggy Ann M. Parker (Robert), both of Branchville, two sisters, Edythe Berry, and Miriam Proctor, six grandchildren, Telbus McAlhany, Nicole Kilgus (Mike), Susanne Toto (Larry), Sheila Mullican (Sam), Ray Billbrough (Kelly), Kim Bishop (Duane), He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, Blake McAlhany, Trevor McAlhany, Nikki Kilgus, Dillan Kilgus, Katelyn Toto, Will Billbrough, Raelyn Billbrough, Kaelyr Billbrough, Sherrelle Infinger, Austin Infinger, Sidney Mullican, Christopher Mullican, and Ava Bishop. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Jack McAlhany, Tom Clint McAlhany, and Otis H. McAlhany Jr. and one sister, Myrtle M. Murphy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville; at other times friends may call at the residence.
