Albert Demaine Dukes' Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Albert Demaine Dukes, 84 years of age, died Tuesday November 13, 2007. Mr. Dukes was born in Branchville, a son of the late Perry Earl Dukes, and Ida Siemers Dukes. He was a graduate of Branchville High School, attended Clemson University, served in The United States Navy for 3 years during WWII, Retired from The Charleston Naval Shipyard after 33 years, retired from Dukes Farm Supply after 10 years. Mr. Dukes was a member of The American Legion and The Branchville Masonic Lodge 110 A.F.M., a lifelong active member of The Branchville United Methodist Church, and a lifelong resident of the Branchville Community. Mr. Dukes and his wife Sue enjoyed traveling, and family gatherings.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday November 15 at 2:00 P.M. at The Branchville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Grady Corder Officiating. Burial will be in The Ott Cemetery in Branchville. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. Pallbearers are Perry Earl Dukes III, Richard Eugene Dukes, Charles Fredrick Dukes, George D. Farmer, Albert Demaine Dukes III, Jason Brian Dukes, and Michael Dickey Dukes.
Mr. was preceded in death by two brothers, Perry Earl Dukes Jr., and Norman Eugene Dukes.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Bickley Dukes of Branchville, two sons, Albert Demaine Dukes Jr. and wife Pinkey of Winnsboro, SC, and John Bickley Dukes, and wife Jackalin of Lexington, SC, one daughter, Susan Dukes Kennerly and husband Phillip of Neeses, SC. 5 grand children, Albert Demaine Dukes III of Nashville, TN, Michael Dickey Dukes of Clemson, SC, Stephanie Collins Breland, Jason Brian Dukes, and Rebecca Elizabeth Dukes, all of Lexington, SC. 3 great grandchildren, Lori Breland, Kinsley Breland, and Collin Breland all of Lexington, SC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at The Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, or friends may call at the residents, 1330 Edward St.
