Branchville
Alice M. Summers, 87 years of age, died Thursday, September 27, 2018. Mrs. Summers was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late Lee McAlhany and Ola Mae Nettles McAlhany. She was in food preparation at Branchville Public School for 27 years; she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was the widow of the late David Shellie Summers.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 1, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, with Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Interment will be in Cattle Creek UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before services; at other times, friends may call at the residence.
She is survived by four sons, Vernon S. Summers of Branchville, James Allen McAlhany (Brenda) of St. George, Marion Sheckie Summers (Melody), and Walter Terry Summers, both of Branchville, four daughters, Eva Mae Hall (Walter) of Williston, Ruby Hefner (Cliff) of Hickory, NC, Christine Bickley of Elloree, and Darlene Buck (Lynn) of Cordova, thirty grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, and a number of great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 6 siblings.
