Althaea Metts Dickson's Obituary
Branchville
Althaea Metts Dickson "Teat", 86 years of age, died Saturday, February 17, 2018. Teat was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late Clarence Marion Metts and Fannie Idella Walters Metts. She was the heart and "sole" of Dickson Shoe Shop, a.k.a. "Mom" to many customers in Orangeburg, a lifelong member of Branchville Baptist Church, and she loved spending time with her family and friends and riding her lawnmowers.
Funeral services will conducted Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., at Branchville Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Shaw and Rev. Richard Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Metts Cemetery in Branchville.
She is survived by four sons, Franklin "Frank" Dickson (Chris) of Branchville, Milton Dickson (Amy) of Columbia, Finley Milo Dickson, of Bamberg, and Eugene Dickson (Kim) of Branchville, one sister Esther Metts Jennings of Branchville, ten grandchildren, Renee' Jeffcoat (Glenn), Trey Dickson (Becky), Oakley Dickson (Kristin), Megan Dickson, Flynn Dickson (Savannah), Beckett Thompson (Buddy), Kayla Mitchell (Jonathan), Ashlyn Dickson, Jessie Dickson, and Milo Benjamin Dickson, fifteen great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by twelve siblings.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at the Branchville Baptist Church Social Hall, and at other times friends may call at the residence.
