Branchville
Mr. Archie M. Metts, 86 years of age, entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2010. Mr. Metts was born in Branchville, a son of the late Cameron Preston Metts and Sarah Williams Metts. Mr. Metts was a long time resident of Charleston, SC, where he was in the roofing business. Upon returning to Branchville, he became the owner of Cross Country Salvage.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, October 4, 2010, at 2:00 P.M., at Metts Cemetery, in Branchville, with Rev. Wayne Manning officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Frances Carroll Metts, one son, George W. Metts (Rosemary) of Branchville, one sister, Juanita M. Wells of James Island, two brothers, Marion C. Metts of Ladson, and Albert S. Metts ( Peggy) of Gulfport, Miss., twelve nieces, and three nephews. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Ruth Metts and Evelyn M. Thomas, and one brother, Thomas P. Metts.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 3, 2010, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Mr. George W. Metts, 4427 Bowman Branch Highway, Branchville.
