Bettie Fairey Rhoad's Obituary
Branchville, Mrs. Bettie F. Rhoad, 80 years of age, died Sunday, May 24, 2009. Mrs. Rhoad was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late Nipson Fairey and Annie Taylor Fairey. Mrs. Rhoad was retired from the Branchville Public School System; she was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church; she was a full time employee of Branchville Police Department and staff organist for Ott Funeral Home. She loved spending time with her family and friends; she was the widow of the late Rufus Rhoad. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 11:00 A.M., at Branchville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Grady Corder and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services. She is survived by two daughters, Kaye Robbins of Winston Salem and Patti Gunter (Bryan) of Raleigh, two sisters, Vera Thomas of Goldsboro and Maxine Weaver of Sumter, seven grandchildren, Samantha Robbins, Abbey Robbins, Russ Gunter, Julia Gunter, Olivia Gunter, Amelia Gunter, Chip Gunter and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rhoad is preceded in death by one brother, Lamar Fairey, and one sister, Ruth Godfrey. Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville; at other times, friends may call at the residence, 7106 Freedom Rd.
