Betty Sue Norris' Obituary

Betty Sue Manning Norris (Sue), age 69, passed away on Friday morning (Nov 16) during emergency surgery at OSU Medical Center. Sue was born on October 25, 1949 in Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated from Meredith College in 1972 with a degree in Business. Shortly before graduation she married John Norris, Jr who was a young Lt in the USAF. John became a fighter pilot and their life adventure included 13 moves (domestic and international) and travel all over the world. Sue's favorite tour of duty was the year they spent in Iceland. After 10 years in the Air Force, John went to work for Duke Power and they later adopted an infant son (Alex) in 1986. They moved to Delaware, Ohio in 2000 when John went to work at AEP. Sue was an accomplished piano player, choir and hand-bell choir member, excellent cook, and very talented quilter. She was Financial Secretary at All Shepherds Lutheran Church and was very active in the local PEO chapter. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Gladys Manning, and has an older brother, Mike, who lives in Pinnacle, NC. John and Sue were married almost 47 years. Sue was the daughter in law of John Norris, Sr of Branchville, and sister in law of Tony and Charlene Negron of Branchville. On Wednesday Nov. 21st, there will be a visitation at 12:30 PM at Branchville Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM conducted by the Rev. Zach Farmer. Burial will be immediately after the service at Ott Cemetery. Ott Funeral Home in Branchville is assisting the family with arrangements..
