Betty R. Smith, 86 years of age, died Tuesday April 2, 2019. Betty was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late George M. and Ora Estelle Bozard. She was the widow of the late Ubi Daniel Smith. Betty was a lifelong member of Prospect Southern Methodist church where she was a former Sunday school teacher; she was retired from Belks department store. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Prospect Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Bogstad officiating. Interment will be in Rigby Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Smith of Summerville, and Rhonda S. Bell of Orangeburg, two sons, Ubi Daniel Smith (Robin) of Harleyville and Darren S. Smith of Branchville, one brother, Randy Bozard of Santee, one sister, Shirley Hook of Branchville, fourteen grandchildren, Tiffany Stokes (Matt), Sommer Judy (Keith), Camie Westbury, Andy Westbury (Amy), Eric Smith, Kendall Watts (Cody), Corey Smith (Keri), Chelsea Smith, Cassidy Smith, Connor Smith, Cantlee Smith, Madelyn Smith, Anna Smith, and Grayson Smith, eight great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Prospect Southern Methodist Church in Bowman, or Roper Hospice Cottage in Mt. Pleasant.
