Candy Fortenberry Zeigler's Obituary

It is with profound sadness we share that Candy Fortenberry Zeigler passed away at home on Friday, July 8. Her absence leaves a tremendous gap in our family but we take comfort in knowing that her faith has made her whole in the presence of her Lord in Heaven.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs Lacy and Caramel. She adored the Christmas season and her entire home was filled with Santa's and many other holiday decorations. Her greatest treasures were her sixteen grandchildren all for whom she had a nickname: Aubrey"Lilly Pad", John Michael "Bean", Lawrence "Bug", Clifton "Flash",Olivia "Fire Fly", Savannah "Lady Bug", Makenzie "Doodle Bug", Camden "Gator Tail", Noah "Noodle", Bentley "Tigger", Emily "Sweet Pea", Tucker"Tiger", Madelyn "Bumblebee",Savannah "Cherry Blossom", Willa "Hummingbird", and Nora "Butterfly".She loved and cared about each fiercely.
Candy is survived by her father, Alton Bernard Fortenberry, her husband, Heyward C. Zeigler of the home, daughter Summer (Jeremy) Hudson, son Ronald "Ron" (Charity)Garrett all of Spartanburg, step sons: Christopher (Erin) Zeigler of Orangeburg, Heyward "Bubba" (Kayla) Zeigler of Reevesville, and William (Lauren) Zeigler of Cope, sisters Cookie Fortenberry Cudd (Ronald) and Cindy Fortenberry (Tad Lancaster) and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Axson Fortenberry.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 13at 11:00 a.m. at Ott Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends one hour before the service. Reverend Wayne Manning to perform the service. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hudson, Chris Zeigler, Bubba Zeigler, William Zeigler, Shay Byrd and Tad Lancaster. Graveside service will follow at Ott's Cemetery. Corbett's Flowers in Orangeburg is assisting the family with floral arrangements.
