Mrs. Cecile Moorer Reeves Marchant died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Roper Hospital, in Charleston. Mrs. Marchant was born June 5, 1934, in Branchville, SC, a daughter of the late William Murch Moorer Jr., and Dorothy Wolfe Moorer. She graduated from St. George High School and was a member of Indian Field United Methodist Church. She owned and operated Cile's Florist and Gifts for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Libby R. Stephens of Columbia, her son, Ralph F. (Susie) Reeves Jr. of Reevesville, granddaughter, Kelli (Landon) Wimberly of Reevesville, stepson, Donald Wayne (Diane) Marchant, of Harleyville, step grandchildren, Brandy (Justin) Branch of Reevesville, and Wayne Marchant of Rosinville. She is also survived by step great- grandchildren, Ava, Emma, and Hunter Branch of Reevesville, and Ashley and Emily Marchant of Rosinville. She leaves behind two sisters, Raye (Danny) Dukes and Nancy (Doug) Robbins, both of St. George, and one brother, Charlie (Priscilla) Moore of Reevesville, and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are step children, Jerome Marchant and family, Timmy Marchant and family, Donna Jean Cutter and family, and Betty Ann Gruber and family.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Cecil Marchant, she was preceded in death by a son, Bill Reeves, and grandsons, Vic Stephens and Ross Reeves.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Magnolia Cemetery, in Reevesville, with Rev. Jakie Walters officiating. Memorials may be made to Magnolia Cemetery fund, c/o Carolyn Hilton, 201 Whetsell St., Reevesville, SC 29471.
