Charles R. Bailey's Obituary

Reverend Charles R. Bailey, 89 years of age, died Saturday January 10, 2009 at his residence. Rev. Bailey was born in Colleton Co. a son of the late Samuel Joseph Bailey and Beulah Langdale Bailey. Rev. Bailey served as pastor for 18 years at Edisto Baptist Church and served at many other churches in South Carolina. He was an avid outdoors man who loved his family and friends, and he was the widower of the late Helene A. Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday January 13, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Edisto Baptist Church with the Rev. Jakie Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M.
Survived by four daughters, Betty Foster (Tony) of Wando, Mary B. Rogers of Branchville, Peggy Long (John) of North Charleston, and Patsy Harrell (Tracy) of Hanahan, two brothers, Roland Bailey and Jerry Bailey, one sister, Bee Gatch, all of Columbia, eight grand children, twenty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. at The Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, and friends may call at the residence at other times.
