Mrs. Charlotte Beatrice Watkins Hill, 94 years of age, died June 30, 2008. Mrs. Hill was born August 8, 1913, in Columbia. She was a daughter of the late Robert Coleman Watkins, and Harriett Eugene Hadley Watkins. She was the widow of George Ellison Hill. She was a long standing member of the St. John United Methodist Church in Columbia, the past president of a number of garden and social clubs. An avid reader, she was very interested in genealogy and southern history, and a antique dealer and collector, and owned and operated The Cottage in Columbia for a number of years, she will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
Grave side services will be officiated by Reverend Clyde Aiken of Columbia, Friday July 4, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at The Ott Cemetery in Branchville.
Survived by one son, George Robert Hill, one grandson, Robert David Hill and wife Suzanne both of Port Saint Lucie FL., one sister, Dottie Watkins Craft of Columbia, one brother, Robert Eugene Watkins and wife Elizabeth of Camden, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry Brent Hill. Memorials may be made to The Treasure Coast Hospice, 10360 South Federal Hwy. Port St. Lucie FL. 34952.The Ott Funeral Home in Branchville is in charge of arrangements.
