Clara Metts Halter's Obituary
Mrs. Clara Metts Halter, 92 years of age, died Wednesday February 7, 2007 in the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Mrs. Halter was born in Orangeburg Co. a daughter of the late Clarence Metts, and Fannie Walters Metts, she was the widow of the late Paul Halter, she was a member of the Branchville Baptist Church, and was retired from the Branchville Shirt Plant. Funeral services will be conducted Friday February 9, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of the Ott Funeral Home in Branchville with Dr. Richard Porter officiating. Burial will be in the Metts Cemetery in Branchville. Survived by three sons, Mr. Glenn A. Halter and wife Donnie of Orangeburg, Kenneth O. Halter and wife Naomi of West Columbia, and Micheal L. Halter and wife Delano of Walterboro, one brother, Mr. J.C. Metts of Charleston, Four sisters, Mrs. Althea M. Dickson, Mrs. Frances M. Smith, Mrs. Esther M. Jennings, and Mrs. Beatrice M. Turner, all of Branchville, two sister-in laws Edith Metts, and Helen Metts, 14 grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Halter was predeceased by one son, Mr. Paul V.H. Halter. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Ott Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
