Branchville
Clarice McAlhany Myers, 88 passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Palmetto Richland Hospital, in Columbia, SC. She was born in Branchville, SC, and was the daughter of the late Angus and Hazel McAlhany. The youngest of two children (Gladys, Clarice), Clarice grew up in the country near Branchville, attended Branchville Baptist Church and graduated from Branchville High School. Clarice later married Willie C. (Bud) Myers, whom she had been devoted to for 70 years. She became mother to two sons, Dwight and Terry. Clarice worked in banking and retired from Southern Bank and Trust in Branchville. She loved gardening, cooking, and doing things for her family and her church.
Clarice is survived by her two sons, Terry Myers(Pam) from Chapin and Dwight Myers (Evlynne) from Burlington NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Myers(Tammy) from Lexington, Keith Myers(Angela) from Cary, Jodi Grubbs(Todd) from Barnwell, and Sarah(Chad). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Christopher Myers, Brittany Myers, Bradley Myers, Adam Myers, Kevin Myers, Dillon Grubbs, Carrie Grubbs, Cassi Grubbs, Catlin Grubbs, Claire Grubbs, and Lane . She is also survived by her great-great grand children, Emma Myers and Patrick Myers . In addition, Clarice had the love of many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Clarice is predeceased by her beloved sister, Gladys Grimes.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 pm, in the fellowship hall, at Branchville Baptist Church, in Branchville, SC, on Saturday, February 11, followed by a memorial service at 1 pm, at the Branchville Baptist Church, with Reverends Tim Shaw and Steve Mims officiating, followed by graveside service, at the McAlhany Cemetery, in Branchville, SC. Active pall bearers will be Ryan Myers, Keith Myers, Todd Grubbs, Dillon Grubbs, Toby Dukes, Mickey Byrd, Tom Myers, and Chris Myers.
