Branchville
Mr. Clyde Kenneth Thompson Sr., 73 years of age, died Friday November 7, 2008. Mr. Thompson was born in Bowman, a son of the late Robert Clyde Thompson, and Lauraetta W Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a member of The Branchville Masonic Lodge #110 A.F.M., The Omar Shrine Temple in Mt. Pleasant. He was a lifetime member of The Prospect Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Thompson loved cooking, fishing, gardening, and his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 10, 2008, at 3:00 P.M. at The Prospect Southern Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Thompson and Rev. Wendell Holland officiating. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery near Branchville. The casket will be placed in the church at 2:00 P.M.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary T. Thompson, one son, Clyde Kenneth (Ken) Thompson Jr. (Renee) of Knoxville TN, one daughter, Sherri (Everett) McAlhany of Reevesville, One brother, William Thompson (Faye) of Branchville, One Aunt, Irene F. Dantzler (Howard) of Orangeburg, Five grand children, Shanna Thompson, Blake Shieder, Samantha Thompson, Kyla Shieder, and Emily McAlhany, one great grand child, Ellie Thompson, two special friends, June Holm, and Henry Donahue, and a number of nieces and nephews, brother and sister in laws.
Family will receive friends on Sunday Nov. 9 from 6:00-8:00 at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville. At other times friends may also call at the resident 130 Thomken Road. You may also leave an online condolence at www.ottfh.com. Memorials may be made to The Prospect Southern Methodist Church.
