Donald Edwin Kirven's Obituary
Bowman
Mr. Donald E. Kirven, 65 years of age, died Thursday January 1, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Kirven was born in Bowman, a son of the late George H. Kirven and Euphala J. Kirven. He was a graduate of the Bowman High School, he attended The United Electronics Institute of Charleston, he was a retired employee of the TRMC after serving 34 ½ years. He was a former member of the Bowman JC's, a JCI senator, and regional Director, and he was a member of the Prospect Southern Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday January 4, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at The Prospect Southern Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Holland, Rev. Danny McClellan, and Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Burial will be in The Thompson Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services. Pallbearers are Phil Kirven, Wayne Freeman, Gene Lawson, Larry Hargrove, Hal Felder, Everett McAlhany.
Survived by his wife of 41 years, Vivian T. Kirven, two sons, George "Ernie" Kirven of Branchville, and Joel (Stephanie) Kirven of Bowman, one daughter, Carmen (Patrick) Wilson, of Columbia, five grand children, Wyatt, Kobie, Rudy, Darla Kirven, and Evan Williams, two brothers, George H. (Patsy) Kirven Jr., and Phillip J. (Donna) Kirven both of Bowman, two sisters, Iyone K. Weathers of Bowman, and Nancy K. Shelton of Orangeburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M. at The Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, and at other times friends may call at the residence. Memorials may be made to The Prospect Southern Methodist Church c/o of Gayle Gaskins, 4483 Cattle Creek Rd. Branchville SC 29432.
