Mr. Dossie Russell Gaskins Jr., 68 years of age, died Friday, December 3, 2010. Mr. Gaskins was born in Orangeburg Co., a son of the late Dossie R. Gaskins Sr. and Lillian Ruth Gaskins. Mr. Gaskins loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was employed by Albemarle Corporation for 28 years, before he retired.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 6, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at the chapel of Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville, with Rev. Alan Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Ott Cemetery, in Branchville.
He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Hurst, of Bastrop LA, two brothers, David Gaskins (Gayle) of Branchville, and Johnny Gaskins (Pam) of Orangeburg, two sisters, Olivia Hughes of Branchville, and Melissa Jones of Bamberg, and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville; friends may call at the residence of Olivia Hughes, 767 Ott St., Branchville. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
