Branchville
Mr. Duncan Bellinger "D.B." Williams Jr., 85, of Branchville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, June 18, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Carol E. Williams; together, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 8th. He was born on March 3, 1931, the son of Duncan Sr. and Mabel (Bradham) Williams. He worked for Dupont at the Savannah River Site for 17 years and retired From Carolina Eastman after 25 years of service.
He was a lifelong member of the Branchville Christian Church, where he served as an elder and secretary/treasurer for 48 years. He served on the town council for 26 years and was a member of Branchville Masonic Lodge #110. He served in the National Guard, and was very proud to have been a member of the Gamecock Club for 60 years, only missing three home games in 55 years.
In addition to his loving wife, Carol, he is survived by his two daughters, Terry Witherspoon (Herbie) of Branchville and Donna Way of West Columbia, seven grandchildren, Chris Carter (Lori) , Courtney Beeks (Ethan), all of Branchville, Caitlyn Witherspoon of Lafayette, La., Richard Way of Orangeburg, Philip Way of Greenville, Ashleigh Staley and fiancée, Derrick Allison, of Lexington, and Elizabeth Johnson (Josh) of Greenville. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, Autumn and Hunter Carter, Carter and Ayden Beeks, all of Branchville, Joseph and Mathew Staley of Lexington, one brother, Johnny Williams (Frankie) of Great Falls, and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2016, at 3:00 PM, at Branchville Christian Church, with Rev. Wayne Manning and Rev. Jerry Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday night, 6-8:00 PM at the church. At other times, friends and family may call at the residence. Burial will be at Ott Cemetery in Branchville. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
