Edith Wiggins Metts' Obituary
North Charleston
Mrs. Edith Wiggins Metts, 85 years of age, entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2007.
Mrs. Metts was born on December 19, 1921 in Holly Hill, a daughter of the late Pressie and Lola Bull Wiggins. She was the beloved widow of the late St. Clair "Duck" Metts, a member of The Cherokee Place Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was the manager of Ann's Vogue for more than 25 years. She will always be in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday October 18, at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of The Ott Funeral Home in Branchville with The Rev. Larue Cook officiating. Burial will follow at The Metts Cemetery on Clarence Rd. in Branchville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Stuhrs Funeral Chapel located on 2180 Greenridge Rd. North Charleston.
Survived by her daughter, Edith Claire Metts Kaufman (Sonny) and daughter-in-law Phyllis Metts Mohrmann (ED) all of North Charleston, four grand children, Robert J. Kaufman III (Kay) of San Antonio, TX, Kevin W. Kaufman (Theresa) of Ridgeville, Leonard Keith Metts, Jr. (Debbie) of North Charleston, and Kimberly Metts McCants (Tom) of Mt. Pleasant, Eight great-grandchildren, Brett R. Kaufman of Houston TX, Kristen Kay Kaufman of Austin TX, Courtney Blair Kaufman and Whitney Erica Kaufman of Moncks Corner, Leonard Keith "Trey" Metts III of North Charleston, Elizabeth Alden McCants, Megan Nicole McCants and Emily Renee McCants of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by her nieces, Diane Bell Carter (Bobby) of Harleyville, Gilda Bell Hartzog (Edward) of St. George, and Penny Bell Bazzle (Pete) of St. George.
She is preceded in death by her son Leonard Keith Metts who died in 2001. Four sisters, Katie W. Bell, Lottie W. Watkins, Rosa W. Jackson, Cornelia B. Cipe. and three brothers, Warren Wiggins, Cleve Wiggins, and Felma Wiggins.
