Edward M Weathers' Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Edward M. Weathers, 91 years of age, died Saturday, April 26, 2014. Mr. Weathers was born in Bowman, a son of the late William O. Weathers and Carrie V. Whetsell Weathers. He was the retired Chief Deputy of the Orangeburg Co. Sheriff Department, with 37 years of service; he was a United States Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Weathers was a member of the Branchville United Methodist church, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association (SCLEOA), an avid Clemson sports fan; he was the widower of the late Etta Maye Weathers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 28, 2014, at the chapel of Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville; burial will follow in Ott Cemetery, in Branchville.
Mr. Weathers is survived by one daughter, Wendy Jeffcoat of Branchville, one sister, Sue W. Shuler (Charles) of Providence, two grandsons, Travis Stokes of Branchville, Edward M. "Matt" Stokes (Tiffany) of Providence, two great granddaughters, Callie Stokes and Kayla Stokes, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Seth, Howard, and W.O. and three sisters, Mopsie, Myra Bell, and Blanche.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 27,from 5 to 7 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home; at other times friends may call at the residence of Matt Stokes. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
