Edythe M Berry's Obituary
Branchville
Mrs. Edythe M. Berry, 85 years of age, died Saturday, October 12, 2013. Mrs. Berry was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late Otis H. McAlhany Sr., and Bessie Hill McAlhany, and she was the widow of the late Jerome Berry. Mrs. Berry loved quilting, sewing, reading, baking, and gardening. She also loved spending time with family and friends on the banks of the Edisto River.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 P.M., Monday October 14, 2013, at Branchville United Methodist Church; 420 Barton St., Branchville SC 294323, with Rev. Bill Burke officiating, burial will be in Ott Cemetery in Branchville. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services.
Survived by one daughter, Ima Jean (Van) Walters, of Branchville, one daughter-in-law, Marilyn B. (Jack) Murdoch, of Branchville, six grandchildren, Amber (Brian) Heape, Audrey (Justin) Cook, Adam Berry, Amy (Drew) Vartenisian, Jason (Kelly) Walters, and Janine (Justin) Rominger, four great granddaughters, Emily and Ellie Heape, Kinsey Cook, and Mia Vartenisian, one sister, Miriam (Pete) Proctor, one sister-in-law, Grace McAlhany. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Berry is preceded in death by one son, Doug Berry, four brothers, Tom Clint McAlhany, Otis (Jr.) McAlhany, Adolph McAlhany, and Jack McAlhany, one sister, Myrtle Murphy.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, and at other times, friends may call at the old home place, 782 McAlhany Rd. The family request that no flowers be sent, and memorials be made to Branchville United Methodist Church, P.O. box 87, Branchville, SC 29432.
