Eugene John Connor's Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Eugene John "E.J." Connor Sr., 88 years of age, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Connor was born in Branchville, a son of the late Eugene W. Connor, and Estelle Hughes Connor. Mr. Connor was an avid hunter and fisherman, a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a faithful member of Branchville Baptist Church, a former Sunday school teacher, deacon, trustee, and a lifelong residence of the Branchville community. He was the widower of the late Mildred C. Connor.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 3:00 P.M., at Branchville Baptist Church, with Rev. Scott O'Neil and Rev. Bobby Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in Ott Cemetery in Branchville.
He is survived by three children, Mitzi H. Berry (Jim) of Branchville, Eugene "Jay" Connor Jr. (Pamela) of Branchville, and Susan C. Ayers ( Carroll) of Pickens, two sisters, Emma Dell Rhoad and Peggy Sweatman, seven grandchildren, Jonathan Berry (Beth), Brandon Berry (Carla), Connor Ayers, Elizabeth Ayers, Savannah Connor, Rebecca Connor, and John Connor, two great grand children, Anna Win Berry, and Ava Berry, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 7 to 9 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, 7305 Freedom Rd., (803) 274-8889; at other times, friends may call at the residence, 710 Edward St. Memorials may be made to the Branchville Baptist Church Sound System Fund, P.O.
