Miss Evelyn Ann Liston, 78 years of age, died Wednesday November 19, 2014. Miss Liston was born in Smoaks, a daughter of the late James D. Liston, and Evelyn Hutto Liston. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Nursing, where she was awarded the" best all around senior student in nursing", she also graduated from the MUSC school of nursing. While at MUSC she developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, which ended her career in nursing. Miss Liston was an accomplished artist, and won several awards for her paintings. She was also a lifelong member of Green Pond United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday November 22, 2014, at 2:00 P.M., at Hucks, Liston, Patrick, Spell Cemetery on Highway 61, with Rev. John Hucks officiating.
Miss Liston is survived by two brothers, Mr. James W. Liston of Brevard NC., and Dr. John M. Liston, of Taylors SC, one niece ,Ms. Lyn Liston of NY, three nephews, Dr. W. Rallie Liston, of Woodruff, Dr. Richard J. Liston, of Ashville NC, and Mr. J. Phillip Liston, of Taylors.
Memorials may be made to the cemetery fund c/o Margaret Spell, 7977 Augusta Hwy., Smoaks SC 29481.Ott Funeral Home LLC in Branchville is in charge of arrangements.
