Fannie S. JerniganJuly 20, 1932 - Nov. 16, 2025Smoaks, South CarolinaMrs. Fannie S. Jernigan, 93, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2025, at her residence.
Born July 20, 1932, in Smoaks, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Samuel Cecil Strickland and Anna Myrtice Carter. After her high school graduation, Fan attended business school in Augusta, Ga. She was employed for 35 years at Charleston Air Force Base and retired as Head of the Base Supply Administrative department. She always put her family first above all else. She will be remembered for her loving and caring nature.
Surviving is a brother, Kevin Strickland and his wife Sherry Strickland of Smoaks SC; Nieces Crystal Mazyck of Goose Creek, SC, Deanna Kornahrens (Walt) of Hanahan SC, Shannon Padgett (Sam) of Charleston, SC and Cecilia Pefley (John) of Tampa Florida; Nephews, Kyle Strickland (Christy) and Clayton Strickland of Smoaks S.C. as well as a host of cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Jernigan; son, Michael R. Jernigan ; sisters Doris Ladelle Strickland, Gwen S. Caldwell, and Martha S. Mazyck; brothers James C.Strickland and Johnny M. Strickland.
Fan was lovingly cared for over the last few years by her niece Crystal and her brother Kevin. The family extends gratitude to caregivers, Patty Fender and Jason Altman for their love and dedication.
The Relatives and Friends of Fannie S. Jernigan are invited to attend her funeral services which will be conducted at 12 o'clock Friday morning, November 21, 2025, at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville with The Reverend Jason Altman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before services.
