Frances E Smoak's Obituary
Branchville
Mrs. Frances Ella Smoak, 83 years of age, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Smoak was born in Bamberg Co., a daughter of the late Fredrick Earl Summers and Lucia Smoak. Mrs. Smoak worked in the Bamberg and Summerville school districts and the Branchville sewing plant. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and baking a lot of goodies for which she was famous. Mrs. Smoak was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed, but is now with her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., at Hunters Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Mew and Rev. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Jacob F. Smoak, four daughters, Patricia Judy (Ronald) of Branchville, Beverly Keating (Timothy) of Johns Island, Debbie Lyons of Branchville, and Angie Stroud (Sandy) of Bluffton, two brothers, Fredrick (Doc) Summers of Branchville, and Earl Summers (Peggy) of Orangeburg. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grand grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville; at other times, friends may call at the residence. Memorials can be sent to United Hospice of Orangeburg, 1055 St. Matthews Rd., Orangeburg, SC 29115.
