I have been with U.S. Cellular for almost 22 years and worked with Gary most of those years. We had an awesome relationship - not just because he was one of the Project Managers I dealt with daily - but also because of his wonderful humor. On one phone call he made to me, I told him he sounded like Garfield (on the animated movies) and from that point on, he was my Garfield. He would call me - whether business-related or not-and place an order for lasagne - just like Garfield would do. I have always had the highest regard for him and I'll miss my Garfield terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Gary and his children.

I very much enjoyed working with Gary for several years building out the eastern NC market for US Cellular. Even though we have not been in touch over the last several years, my life is better for having known and worked with Gary. He was a caring person in a very unassuming way. He regularly talked with me about ways he was trying to help his co-workers with their challenges in life. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family. May God bless you all.

I've had the pleasure of being team mates with Gary over the past 8 years. It was a guarantee that any encounter with Gary would end with a laugh. He was one of kind and will be greatly missed.

Gary will be greatly missed by his fiends and family at US Cellular. I have worked with Gary for many years. He was always quick to respond with a dry sense of humor and had that Mr. McGoo laugh! Thus for the last 20 plus years he earned the nickname of the Mr. McGoo of USC. No one will be able to fill the shoes of Mr. McGoo!

So sorry to hear of the loss of Gary. Although I only knew him for a short time, he certainly left an impression upon me. He was kind, funny and had a quick wit about him like no other. My condolences are being sent to his family at this difficult time. May the days ahead become easier so that you may enjoy the memories that you have of such a sweet man.

Gary was a mentor and father figure to me over my career. In addition to his dry humor and wit, Gary was so generous and caring. I remember when I moved from Evansville, IN to Knoxville, TN, my daughter was born in April of that year, around the time of his and his grandson's birthday. He sent me a baby gift right after she was born; he knew I was commuting back and forth before my family moved with me. That gift meant alot to me and I often think about it. Gary and I also shared a religious bond since we're both Catholic. Gary was very devoted to his faith. We will miss you, Gary.
