George Flynn Dickson's Obituary

Mr. George Flynn Dickson, 78 years of age, died Thursday October 30, 2008 at his residents. Mr. Dickson was born in Sumter, a son of the late Eugene Elias Dickson, and Sarah Davis Dickson. Mr. Dickson served honorably in the US Air Force from February 26, 1946 to February 20, 1971. He served in the European Theater, and the Far East, as well as Alaska and Newfoundland. He was a Sr. Master Sergeant, and received many citations and awards. Mr. Dickson was a member of the Hillcrest Masonic lodge #397 A.F.M. in Sumter, and a member of the Amari Lodge in Japan.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday November 2, 2008 at 4:30 P.M. at The Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, with the Rev. R.G. Davis Officiating. Burial will be in the Ott Cemetery in Branchville.
Survived by one brother, Daniel A. Dickson of Charleston, SC, two sisters, Mary D. Cross of North Port Ala., and Edith D. Rourk of Bonneau Beach, and a number of loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Reddick Dickson, Joseph D. Dickson, and Herbert Dickson.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Ott Funeral Home in Branchville.
