Georgianna Elizabeth Glen Harmon BRANCHVILLE, SC - Georgianna Elizabeth Glen Harmon passed away peacefully on February 18, 2022. Georgianna was born in Charleston, SC on September 17, 1952, the third child of Arthur Leonard Glen, Jr. and Ada King Bailey Glen. She was affectionately named Bobbie by her granddaughter, Micah, and was called that name by close family. Georgianna was raised in Charleston, SC, however her family was from Edisto Island and she spent a great amount of time there throughout her life. She moved to Greenville, SC as a teenager and graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1970. She went to USC in Columbia, SC and graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1986, specializing in Environmental Engineering. After college, Georgianna was employed at the Naval Shipyard in Charleston, SC and later transferred to Holston Defense Corp. in Kingsport, TN. She also became the president of the Tri-County Metaphysical Group. Georgianna always worked hardest as a dedicated and loving mother to her 2 beloved children and then later, her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and her light will shine on through them forever. In 1996, Georgianna met Timothy Harmon, and fell deeply in love. They were married in 2001 and he was the love of her life for 21 wonderful years. Georgianna moved to Branchville and was elected into the Branchville City Council from 2006-2010. She loved her small town and worked helping run elections and working as a librarian in St. George. Georgianna was very passionate about her work to change the world for the better. Georgianna is survived by her husband, Timothy Harmon of Branchville, SC. Georgianna is also survived by her favorite people in the world, her two children: Christina Bailey Whitson of Charleston, SC and Gregory Julian (Meg) Whitson of Asheville, NC. Georgianna has 3 grand-children: Micah Elizabeth Whitson (Charleston); Ada Ruth Whitson and Flora Lou Whitson (Asheville) Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Georgianna is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Walker Glen. Georgianna is survived by three brothers: Arthur Leonard (Janette) Glen, III, of Charleston, William Bailey (Tearesa) Glen of Spartanburg, and Warren Whaley (Barbara) Glen of Kinston, NC; two sisters: Susan Glen (Edwin F. III) Herrington of Washington DC, and Sarah Swinton Glen of Lexington, SC; one sister-in-law, Carmen B. Glen of Miami, FL, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1589 SC Hwy 174, Edisto Island, SC on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 2 PM. There will be a reception at the church following the services. There will also be activities for family on Saturday.
