Mr. Gerald W. Lyons Sr., 87 years of age, died January 9, 2017. Mr. Lyons was born in Smoaks, a son of the late Otis E. Lyons and Reather P. Lyons. He was an active member of Buckhead Advent Christian Church, loved gardening, fishing, squirrel hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was retired from Savannah River Site.
Graveside services will be conducted at Hagan Cemetery, Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Mike Lupo officiating, friends may call at the residence.
He is survived by his wife, Lila L. Lyons, five children, Geraldine Craven (Billie), William Lyons (Libby), Gerald W "Jerry" Lyons Jr. (Theresa), Barbara Lyons, all of Smoaks, and David Lyons (Annette) of Walterboro, daughter in law, Katherine Lyons, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, two brothers, Lehman Lyons of Walterboro, and Gene Lyons of Smoaks. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 65 years, Grace Lyons, and one son, C. Terry Lyons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Buckhead Advent Christian Church, Berea Advent Christian Church, or Branchville Christian Church.
