Henry D. Gable's Obituary
Branchville
Henry D. "Butch" Gable, 71, of Branchville, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Vibra Hospital of Mt. Pleasant, after an extended illness. Butch was born in Lexington, a son of the late Wilbur H. and Mary Shull Gable. He served 6 years in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Ruchamkin and 6 mos. aboard a nuclear submarine. He is retired from trucking with Harry and Thad Wimberly of the Cattle Creek Community.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Cattle Creek United Methodist Church, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Kermit Shrawder officiating; burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving and cherished wife, Diane Gable, of the home; two children, a son, Phil (Angela) Gable, of Bowman, and a daughter, Amanda (Shawn) White, of Orangeburg, and one grandson, Tyler Phillips, of Bowman. He also leaves behind one brother, Lewis Gable, of Batesburg-Leesville, and a sister, Becky Saville, of Chapin, SC. He is also survived by special cousins Marion (Linda) Gable of Lexington, SC, and Jerry (Brenda)Gable 0f Pelion, SC and a very cherished and loving aunt, Azelle Gable. Also, he leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that he held very close to him.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, from 6-8:00 PM, at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
