Rev. James Elzie Lyons Sr. "J.E.", 76 years of age, died Friday, December 30, 2016. Rev. Lyons was born in Colleton Co. a son of the late George Lyons and Martha Linder Lyons. He was an avid hunter; he was the pastor at Buckhead Advent Christian Church, for the past 22 years, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 2, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., at Buckhead Advent Christian Church, with Rev. Wayne Lucas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before services; burial will be in the church cemetery.
Rev. Lyons is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice B. Lyons, two sons, James Lyons Jr. "Lynne", and Paul Lyons "Mary Beth Jamison", seven grandchildren, Ashley Lyons "Rusty Rhoad", Jamie Lyons, "Lindsey Ingram", Rachel Lyons, Justin Lyons, John Robert Ingram "Staci", and Rachel Ingram "Charles Peek", one great grandchild, Christian Ingram, two brothers, Buddy Lyons "Sara" and Steve Lyons. He will be missed by his four fur grandbabies, Sassie, Dink, Baby Girl Lyons, and Mollie Rhoad, that he came to love dearly.
Memorials may be made to the Buckhead Advent Christian Church.
