Janice M Folk's Obituary
Branchville
Janice M. Folk, widow of Luther H. Folk, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at The Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg S.C. Born May 11, 1924, in Inglewood, California, she was the youngest daughter of Harrison Rockwell Spaulding and Eula Amick Spaulding.
Mrs. Folk was a life-long member of the Branchville Baptist Church; she was a member of the choir and several committees, including the nursery. She was active in community affairs, was a substitute teacher at Branchville High School, an EMT, a supporter of the Branchville Railroad Museum, and a life-long Gamecock fan. She loved her family, her community, her church , her garden, and her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Branchville Baptist Church, at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Tim Shaw and Rev. Steve Mims officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Ott Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Peterson Varn, William M. Varn (Connie), Dr. Robert A. Varn (Bobbie), and Connie V. Covington (Tommy). Also surviving are grandchildren, Craig, Michael, and Matt Varn , Ashley Reed, Katie Fleming, Jason and Rocky Varn, Betsy Tant, Tac and Brian Covington, Jennifer McElveen, 21 great grandchildren, and one sister Doris Gilmore of Garden Grove, California.
She is predeceased by her first husband, William P. Peterson,second husband, William P. Varn, sisters, Eleanor Hanes, Charlotte Price, and brothers, Robert and Stanley Spaulding.
