John William Byrd's Obituary
Branchville,Mr. John William "Billy" Byrd, 63 years of age, died Monday April 27, 2009. Mr. Byrd was born in Orangeburg Co. a son of the late Adolph W. Byrd, and Gladys M. Byrd. He was a member of Mid Carolina Gun Club in Orangeburg, Buck Head Hunting Club, Branchville United Methodist Church, but Poppy's greatest love of all was spending time with his children and grand children.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday May 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., at Branchville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Grady Corder officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery in Branchville.Survived by his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Barbara C. Byrd, two daughters, Lisa Byrd Davis (Taylor) of Greenville, and Rachel Byrd of Columbia. Two grandsons, William Preston Davis, and John Harris Davis, two brothers, Mickey Byrd (Diane) of Branchville, Lanny Byrd (Jane) of Huntsville Ala. One sister-in-Law, June Thomas of Troy Mich., two brother-in-laws, J.T. Champy (Theresa) of Orangeburg, and John C. Champy (Jackie) of Williston, a very close aunt and uncle, Bud (Clarice) Myers of Branchville, and two very special people, Mike and Beth Hughes of Cayce, and a number of nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends Friday May 1, 2009 from 6 to 8 P.M.; Friends may also call at the residence, 6743 Freedom Rd.Memorials may be made to Branchville United Methodist Church, 420 Barton St. Branchville SC 29432.
