It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Johnnie B. Axson. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2023.She was the wife of Danny Axson of Bamberg, SC. They shared 48 years together.She was the daughter of John and Billie Ann Bigham. She was employed with the SC Forestry Commission for 28 years. Since retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Danny, her children Jess (Angela) Axson of Bamberg and Dannette (Brian) Reed of Bamberg, her grandchildren John Robert Axson, Ava, Hollie, Waylon River and Elle Reed and her sister Anne Dempsey, of Illinois. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and two special boys Lawrence and Clifton.She attended Edisto Baptist Church in Branchville SC. She enjoyed attending gospel singing events with her fellow church ladies and helping with cooking for any church events. Her love of cooking and spending time with her loved ones will be missed by all that knew her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11 am at Edisto Baptist Church, Branchville SC.Memorial donations can be made to Edisto Baptist Church.
