Johnnie Francis Dozier's Obituary
Johnnie Francis (Frankie) Dozier, Jr. 83, of Orangeburg, SC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Frankie is the son of the late Ethel Waldron Dozier and Johnnie Francis Dozier, Sr. He was born at home on February 26, 1941 in Brittons Neck, SC. He graduated from Edmonds High School in Sumter, SC. On December 22, 1962, he married the love of his life, Gloria Dean (Deanie) Thomas. They were married for 46 years. Soon after marrying Deanie, he pursued a career in welding at Applied Engineering and became a master welder. Frankie is preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, his brother, Barry and his Uncle Kenny, who was raised with him as a brother. Furthermore, Frankie was known for his many talents which included being a master carpenter. He could fix or build anything he or anyone wanted or needed. If anyone could get it done, it was him. He built many projects for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family looked forward to seeing what he made with his own hands for them at Christmas. In addition, God blessed him with the heart and desire to care for others in need. Over the years of serving his community of ways, he made many friends who grew to love him. Frankie loved the Lord and served as deacon of Branchville Baptist Church for many years. He was also a member of Branchville Masonic Lodge #110. Nothing made him happier than earning the title of Poppa. He loved spending time with his grandboys more than anything in this world and it, which usually involved a fishing pole in hand. He would be quick to tell you his family was the most important part of his life and he loved his daughters, son in laws and his grandboys, granddaughter in laws and great grands more than life itself. He is survived by his daughters, Angie (Denney) Conley; Lisa (Calvin) Moore; Grandchildren, Cody (Nikki) Walters, Chazz (Cera) Moore, Clint (Rennie) Moore, Dalton (Anna) Walters, Eli Conley, and Rhonda O'Brien Blackburn who was like a daughter to him; sister in law, Joyce Nettles, Great Grandchildren; Faith Conley, Harper Hickman, Roe, St. Claire and Banner Walters. Nieces; Shannon (Tim) Zeigler, Briana (Adam) Zorn, Christel, one nephew Jimmy, and many great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, November 8, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, SC. His funeral will be held Saturday, November 9th at 2:00pm at Edisto Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2720 Broughton St. Orangeburg, SC. Pallbearers are grandsons, Cody, Chazz, Clint, Dalton & Eli and son in laws, Denney and Calvin. Lastly the faily would like to extend a heartfrlt thanks to Agape Care Group and the Lowcountry Community Hospice for all the care and support given to Frankie and family over the last 5 months, and especially to his Hospice Nurse, Catrina, who was truly a blessing to us all and will now forver be apart of our family.
