Joseph "Boley" Wendell Wimberly, Jr.
Joseph "Boley" Wendell Wimberly Jr. 83 years of age, passed away on November 10th, 2025 at the Wimberly Residence. He was the husband of Naomi Dukes Wimberly for 61 beautiful years of partnership.
Boley was born in Dorchester County on August 15th, 1942, he was the son of Julia "Peep" Myers Wimberly and Joseph Wendell Wimberly, Sr. He graduated from St. George Highschool School in 1960. He also attended Clemson A&M College.
He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist church and served as Church Treasurer and Deacon. He was a devoted Master Mason for 47 years, serving as the Current Chaplin for 30 years. He was a spiritual man involved in many church activities. You could always find Boley outside as he was an avid outdoorsman. He will be forever remembered by his family, friends, and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife Naomi Wimberly, his daughter Stephanie (Blaine) Heffelfinger. He dearly loved his grandchildren , Riggs (Trista) Heffelfinger and Jordon (Nick) Fortana, and great grandchildren Josie Fortana and Austin Fortana. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Wendall Wimberly III.
A visitation will be held at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville, SC on Wednesday Nov. 12th from 6-8 PM. The funeral along with the interment at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church will be held on Thursday Nov. 13th at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society.
