Julius Edward Kizer's Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Julius Edward Kizer Sr., 88 years of age, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Mr. Kizer was born in Orangeburg Co., a son of the late Isaac Henry Kizer and Frances Edwards Kizer. He was a lifelong member of Cattle Creek U.M.C. and served as a trustee for the church and Cattle Creek Campground for many years. He was a member of Branchville Masonic Lodge #110 AFM, for over 50 years, and was a member of Omar Shrine. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was also retired from the Savannah River Plant.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 1, 2012, at 1:00 P.M., at Cattle Creek U.M.C., with Rev. Curtis Felkel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services. Pallbearers will be nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Ruth Garrick Kizer, two sons, Julius Edward Kizer Jr. "Connie" of Williston, Clifton H. Kizer "Wendy" of Warrenville, and one daughter, Sherri K. Owens "Monty" of Branchville. He is also survived by two sisters, Annabell Crook (Jack) and Sylvia Ott, nine grandchildren, Eric Lambert, Chelsie Kizer, Connor Kizer, Alex LeSesne (Monroe), Max Kizer, Cruz Kizer, Brookelyn Burch, Jason Owens, and Matthew Owens, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Douglas.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville; at other times friends may call at the home. Memorials can be made to Cattle Creek U.M.C. c/o Dale Wiles, Bowman SC, or the Mabry Cancer Clinic, Cook Rd., Orangeburg, SC, 29118.
