Kathryn Grooms Smith, 72 years of age, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at her residence. Kathryn was born in Cross, SC, a daughter of the late Sidi Grooms and Geraldine B. Grooms. She loved working with her flowers, going to the beach and to the mountains. Kathryn was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Crestview Baptist Church, with Rev. James Preveaux officiating; burial will follow at Tabernacle Cemetery, near Smoaks. The family will receive friends one hour before services.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of 42 years, David A Smith Sr., one son Tony Sullivan (Jennifer) of Cope, three grandchildren, Chris (Kit) Crocker, Amber Funderburk (Luke), and Nicholas Sullivan, three great grandchildren, Chase Crocker, Nathan Crocker, and Carson Funderburk, one sister, Mary Hall, two brothers, Calvin (Sis) Grooms, and Alvin Grooms, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one sister Dolly Grooms Sanders.
