Kenneth Spires Sr.'s Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Kenneth Spires, 64 years of age, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Spires was born in Bamberg, a son of the late Thurmond Dwight Spires, and Ruby Lee Carrigg Spires. He was an avid outdoors man; he loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., at Berea Advent Christian Church, with Rev. Mike Lupo, and Rev Bob Burdette officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M.; burial will follow at Ott Cemetery, in Branchville.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Joyce Spires, one daughter, Gwen Spires Lee (Robert) of Denmark, one son Kenny Spires Jr. (Aimee) of Branchville, two brothers, Dwight Spires (Sally) of Branchville and Ronnie Spires of Branchville, two sisters, Carolyn Spires Black (James) of Orangeburg and Deborah Smoak of Carthage, NY, three grandchildren, Rob Lee, Kaylee Spires, and Gracie Spires, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one sister, Marie Spires Jensen.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville; at other times, friends may call at the residence. Online condolences can be sent to www.ottfh.com
