Kenneth M (Donald) Stevens' Obituary
Branchville
Mr. Kenneth M (Donald) Stevens of Branchville, SC,, 86 years of age, went to his eternal home on Thursday, November 23, 2017, after an extended illness. Mr. Stevens was born November 9, 1931 in Colleton County to the late Blanco Stevens and Hazel Kinsey Stevens.
Mr. Stevens served in the U.S. Air Force. He had a career in insurance and finance and later retired from Kentucky Finance. He served as a deacon and worship leader at Edisto Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Stevens was loved and well thought of by all who knew him. He enjoyed his hobbies of gardening and farming. One of his favorite sayings was "What a mighty God we serve! "
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 3:00 PM at Edisto Baptist Church, with Rev. Jakie Walters officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Thompson Stevens, two daughters, Faye Stevens Kinard (Buddy), Gail Stevens Branham , and one son, Ken Stevens Jr. (Pam). He is also survived by his much loved grandchildren Phillip Schurr, Jason Noel, Casey Stevens Johnston (Ryan), Brock Stevens, and one great granddaughter Olivia Johnston. He is survived by two sisters, Murdell Stevens Sandifer and Phyllis Stevens Holloway.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or Edisto Baptist Church in his memory.
