Larry Dean Edwards' Obituary
Branchville,
Mr. Larry Dean Edwards, 63 years of age, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Charleston. Mr. Edwards was born October 24, 1946, in Lumberton NC, a son of the late Dewitt Edwards and Martha Vaughn Edwards. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and received the Bronze service star. He loved hunting and fishing, and made his home in Branchville for the past 37 years.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 11:00 A.M., at Edisto Baptist Church, with Rev. Jakie Walters officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Casket will be places in the church at 10:00 A.M. Pallbearers will be Charles Peek, Blake Cooler, Brandon Cooler, Austin Wilson, Ryan Johnston, and Joey Hightower.
Survived by his wife, Harriett B. Edwards, one son, Jake Wilson (Tina) of Augusta, GA, two daughters, Julie Scheffsky (Mark) of Hilton Head, SC, and Janet Peek (Vic), of Bamberg, SC, five grandchildren, Austin Wilson, Brandon Cooler, Blake Cooler, Charles Peek, and Victoria Hightower (Joey). Three great grandchildren, Joey III, Riley, and Luke Hightower. Three sisters, Diane Woods (John), Janie Norton, both of Laurenburg NC, and Ellen Quick of FL., and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Edwards, and one sister, Dot Fore.
Memorials may be made to Edisto Baptist Church, 4831 Edisto River Rd., Branchville, SC 29432. Ott funeral home in Branchville, is in charge of arrangements.
