Larry Dale Timms' Obituary
Branchville, S.C.
Larry Dale Timms, 67 years of age, passed away on Monday, June 5th. Larry was the son of Junior and Doris Timms of Abbeville. A graduate of the 1968 class of Greenwood High School, he served four years in the Army National Guard while attending Lander College where, in 1973, he received a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Larry was employed by Greenwood Mills at locations in Greenwood and Orangeburg for 22 years. Following the closing of the Orangeburg plants, he worked for several other companies in management and retail sales before retiring from Ott Oil Company in 2012. Larry loved working in his yard, playing golf, watching college football, and spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his parents; his daughter, Rachel (Randon) Berry; three grandchildren, William Timms Billbrough, Natalie Virginia Berry, and Knox Randon Berry; one sister, Linda (Barry) Hamrick; one brother, Blake (Olivia) Timms; three nephews, McCain (Kelly) Hamrick, Ethan (Courtney) Beeks, and Cooper Timms; three nieces, Brooks (Chris) Casteel, Julie Beeks, and Tayler (Dylan) Bock; two great nieces, two great nephews, and a group of friends who are nothing short of family.
A graveside service at McAlhany Cemetery is planned for Saturday, July 15th at 3 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC.
