Lloyd A Connelly's Obituary
Reevesville
Lloyd A. Connelly, 96 years of age, died Friday, July 26, 2019, at the VA Hospital, in Columbia. Mr. Connelly was born November 18, 1922, in Reevesville, a son of the late John Wesley Connelly, and Maggie Myers Connelly. He served his country faithfully in WWII. He was a lifelong farmer and a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where he served as the church Historian, deacon, building committee, Sunday School Superintendent, and teacher. He was married to the late Catherine McAlhany Connelly for 65 years.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, July 28, 2019, at 4:00 P.M., at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, with Rev. Bobby Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., in the church fellowship hall. Pallbearers will be Ryan Gunter, Brent Gelegotis, Richard Crook, Gene Lightfoot, Ronnie Weathers, and Kent Kizer. He is survived by two daughters, Rachel (Joe) Barnhill and Kathy (Andy) Gunter, both of Reevesville, five grandchildren, Benji (Vicky) Barnhill of Lexington, Kami (Richard) Crook, Jodi (Gene) Lightfoot, Ryan (Kara ) Gunter, of Reevesville, and Julie (Brent) Gelegotis of James Island, and 11 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by three sisters, Rae (W.O.) Weathers, Dorothy and Carrie Connelly, and one granddaughter, Rachele Barnhill.
Memorials can be made to the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Donna Lucas, 1183 Flatwoods Rd., Reevesville, SC 29471. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the personnel of the Tucker Nursing Care Center, and the VA facilities for their excellent love and care.
