Mabel S Dukes' Obituary
Branchville
Mrs. Mabel S. Dukes, 100 years of age, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Mrs. Dukes was born in Bamberg Co., a daughter of the late Wade H. Steedly and Laura Smith Steedly. Mrs. Dukes was a member of the Branchville United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends; she was a committed and notable walker, in Branchville. She was the widow of the late John C. Dukes Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 11:00 A.M., at the Branchville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before services. Burial will be at Sardis Cemetery in Branchville.
Mrs. Dukes is survived by two daughters, Janet Rachel Tuttle (Chuck), of Branchville, and Jacqueline S. Womack of McKinney, TX, nine grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, twenty great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one son, John C. "Buddy" Dukes Jr., two grandchildren, and eight siblings.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at the Ott Funeral Home in Branchville At other times, friends may call at the residence of Ricky Parrott. Memorials can be made to the Branchville United Methodist Church.
