Mrs. Marie Lyvon (Smoak) Stenroos, 69 years of age, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Colleton Medical Center, in Walterboro. Mrs. Stenroos was born in Charleston Co., a daughter of the late W. Percy Altman and Patty Harriott Altman. She loved spending time outdoors and time with her family; she was a member of the Berea Advent Christian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 1:00 P.M., at the chapel of the Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville, with the Rev. J.E. Lyons officiating. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Stenroos of Smoaks, one son, John W. Smoak of Hunters Chapel, one daughter, Susan A. Follett of Tybee Island Ga., one step son, Patrick M. Hare of SanDeigo CA, and one step daughter, Jean E. Abbott, of Toccoa Ga., two brothers, Joe Mike Altman of Brunson, and J.A. Altman of Varnville, nine grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 P.M., at the Ott Funeral Home, in Branchville. Friends may call at the residence, at other times.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
