It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Lucille Mims on March 9, 2025, at her home in Branchville, SC, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Marilyn had a kind and generous spirit, always offering a helping hand and a warm heart. She was a best friend to everyone she met, making each person feel special and loved.
Marilyn was born on March 21, 1950, in Sumter, SC, to Joe Earl Brown and Alma Lucille Green Brown.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Timothy O'Neill Mims; her sister, Henrietta Herrmann; her lifelong sister-in-law and best friend, Willa Mae Ramsey; her four children, Becky Mims, Christy Cox (Steve), Amanda Wilson (Michael), and Timothy Mims; her grandchildren, Brooke, Grayson, Bryce, Austin, Michaela, Marissa, Alissia, Surina, Korrin, and Brittany; and her great-grandchildren, Kylee, Makinlee, Garrett, Batten, Georgia, Aubrey, and Loralei. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on March 13, 2025 at Ott Funeral Home to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
