Branchville
Mrs. Martha M. Garwood, 76 years of age, died Friday, August 21, 2015, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Mrs. Garwood was born in Sumter, a daughter of the late Ernest W. Myers and Carol Blease Myers. Mrs. Garwood was a member of the Branchville Baptist Church, served as church secretary and helped with the nursery and vacation bible school for years. She worked for Boland Pharmacy for over 30 years and was the Branchville Librarian for Orangeburg County for 29 years. Mrs. Garwood had a great passion for children and feeding her birds.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 23, 2015, at 4:00 P.M., at Branchville Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Shaw and Rev. Steve Mims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before services and, at other times, friends may call at her residence or at the residence of Buck and Mabryce Myers in Rowesville.
She is survived by one son, Jim Garwood of Ladson, one brother William "Buck" Myers (Mabryce) of Rowesville, one sister, Sandra Stonge (Hardrock) of AZ, four nieces and one nephew.
