Mary Sue GoffBranchville- Mom (Sue) left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on July 23 at 88 years old. She was born in Orangeburg County, SC on July 15, 1936 to Julius Preston and Leila Belle Connelly. Branchville High was her alma mater.She and dad shared his Air Force career, two sons and 65 years of marriage. As a member of Branchville Baptist Church, she worked in the nursery, served on the benevolence committee and was active in Sunday school. She also worked at a number of jobs. As a devoted housewife she raised Sid Jr. and David. In addition mom and dad also served as foster parents.Over the years mom sewed, baked favorites and did home canning. She also enjoyed camping with us 'guys'.Mom was predeceased by her husband (Sid Sr.) and her sisters Colette Proctor and Lois Felder.Surviving are sisters Carolyn (Hector) Arias and Julia (Edward) Axson; sons: Sid Jr.(Connie) and David (Sherry); five grands: Rachel, Becky, Tabitha, Susanna and Sarah Beth; 7 great grands and many cousins.Pastor George Moore and Pastor Tim Shaw conducted a private graveside service at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery on July 26. Pallbearers were Eddie Axson, Brian Felder, Rakesh Godavari, and Chris Easterling.We give our deepest thanks and appreciation to Magnolias of Walterboro Assisted Living and Edisto Home Care & Hospice. The care and compassion displayed was wonderful.A service to remember her life is scheduled for August 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Branchville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.If you are able to, when you give to your special charity remember mom.
